Senior Controls Engineer PLC / Automation West Midlands

We are a well established engineering organisation with a strong presence across the West Midlands, now seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our advanced manufacturing operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer with a proven track record in Plc programming, automation, and control systems to take ownership of high level projects, drive improvements and play a key role in a world class production environment.

Key Responsibilities Senior Controls Engineer:

• Lead and support automation and control systems across a complex production site.
• Deliver advanced PLC programming and integration solutions for Siemens S7, TIA Portal and other mainstream Plc platforms.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Project and CI teams to identify root causes, implement improvements and enhance system reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a highly automated, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Candidate Requirements Senior Controls Engineer:

• We are looking for a candidate with:
• Strong background in Plc programming, fault finding and control systems design.
• Significant experience with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, or equivalent Plc platforms.
• Proven ability to work in automation driven manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading projects, upgrades and process improvements within controls/automation.
• A track record of delivering system reliability and efficiency gains in production settings.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Controls Engineer seeking to utilise their expertise in a technically challenging role while influencing the future of a world-class manufacturing operation.

Location & Commutable Areas:

Easily commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Coleshill, Atherstone and across the West Midlands.
