Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water)

We are recruiting multiple Senior Electrical Design Engineers (Water) for major long-term frameworks across the UK, including a £100 million framework supporting river health improvements in the Northwest of England.

RPS has over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities and is involved in innovative projects. This is an exciting time in the water industry, with opportunities to create positive change and contribute to sustainable water services.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting provides Asset Management and Operational Strategy support, working with water industry clients on long-term programmes leading into AMP8 and beyond, offering career stability and growth.

About You:

You will handle technical project delivery, monitor budgets, meet deadlines, and ensure quality standards, aiming to exceed client expectations. Your role will impact communities and contribute to sustainable water solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

• Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop innovative technical solutions based on client needs.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA).
• Build relationships with clients and partners.
• Support design and advisory services for water and wastewater assets.
• Produce and review detailed electrical designs, calculations, and reports.
• Deliver multidisciplinary projects using digital design techniques.
• Mentor and develop team members.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Extensive experience in process plant systems within water projects.
• Hands-on water/wastewater project experience.
• Proficiency in digital design.
• Leadership experience within technical teams.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Chartered or working towards chartership.
• Membership with professional institutions like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM preferred.
