Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water)

We are recruiting multiple Senior Electrical Design Engineers (Water) for major long-term frameworks across the UK, including a £100 million framework supporting river health in Northwest England.

RPS has over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities, working on innovative water projects. As we approach AMP8, this is an exciting phase for the water industry, offering opportunities to create positive change.

Under this 10-year framework, RPS aims to optimize programs, develop solutions, and select the best options based on value, carbon footprint, and cost, to deliver exceptional water services in the Northwest.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy for water industry clients, supporting planning and delivery with innovation and teamwork.

We also work with several major UK water companies under various long-term frameworks, with a portfolio of AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability.

About You:

Your responsibilities include technical project delivery, budget monitoring, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality to exceed client expectations. Joining us means working on impactful projects with leading professionals, making a lasting difference in the UK water sector.

Your Responsibilities:

• Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop innovative technical solutions aligned with client needs.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Build relationships with clients and partners.
• Support design and advisory services for water and wastewater facilities.
• Produce and review detailed electrical designs, calculations, and reports.
• Manage multidisciplinary project delivery, using digital design tools.
• Mentor and develop team members.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Extensive experience in process plant systems in water projects.
• Hands-on experience in water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in digital design within construction projects.
• Leadership experience within technical teams.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• Chartered status or working towards it.
• Membership with IET, InstMC, CIWEM, or in progress.
