Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
Salary: Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking experienced Electrical Design Engineers and Senior Electrical Design Engineers to join a growing Building Services team. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical building services systems for a variety of projects
  • Produce detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated designs
  • Ensure compliance with Scottish Building Standards and other regulatory requirements
  • Support, mentor, and guide junior engineers (for senior roles)
  • Attend UK-wide site visits, surveys, and client meetings
  • Lead design team meetings, prepare feasibility studies, and produce technical reports (for senior roles)

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
  • Proven experience in electrical design within the building services sector
  • Strong knowledge of current standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Amtech, ElectricalOM, Dialux, and Relux
  • Familiarity with Revit MEP (hands-on experience advantageous)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Location & Eligibility

  • Hybrid working model – minimum of 2 days per week in Glasgow city centre office
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK for client meetings and site visits
  • Full UK driving licence (or equivalent ability to travel) is essential

Requirements
At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role within the UK Experience in preparing quotations and providing technical support Good written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Experience in the instrumentation or flow measurement industry is a plus Knowledge of process signals such as pulse, 4-20mA, Modbus, M-bus Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
