The Cambridge office is located conveniently on the edge of the A14 and is expanding to meet growing demand across the South East and Midlands regions.We are looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Cambridge team. This role offers exceptional career progression opportunities, with a clear path to Principal level and the possibility of establishing a new office in the near future.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Excellence: Conduct geotechnical assessments including slope stability analysis, bearing capacity calculations, and pile design calculations.Utilise industry-standard software including GEO5 for advanced modelling and analysis.Develop strategy and validation reports (design work subcontracted to specialists).Prepare method statements for ground improvement and stabilisation work.Collaborate with in-house data management teams on 3D site modelling.Project Delivery: Lead technical aspects of diverse projects spanning housing developments, multi-storey developments, former airfields, hospitals, and highway schemes.Conduct pull-out testing for solar arrays and lateral/horizontal pile testing for energy projects.Support major infrastructure projects including thermal and electrical installations.Manage client quotations and maintain strong client relationships.Leadership & Development: Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.Contribute to business development initiatives and proposal preparation.Potential to progress to Principal level with departmental management responsibilities.Opportunity to lead a new office establishment for suitable candidates.Package & BenefitsSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and chartership status.Comprehensive benefits package.Support for professional development and chartership.Performance-related bonuses.Career DevelopmentClear progression pathway to Principal level.
