Job title: Senior Instrumentation Control Design Engineer

Location: Warrington – Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

Job type: Permanent and Contract (Inside IR35)

Duration: 12 months (rolling contract)

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation Control Engineer for a permanent and contract position in Warrington. This role is placed within Oil & Gas, Construction or highly regulated industry.

We have both contract and staff positions available.

Responsibilities

  • Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer will produce C&I design deliverables within single and multi-discipline engineering projects. Support the Lead Engineer in delivering designs on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
  • Ensure designs are coordinated with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation). Participate in internal and external design reviews, presenting designs to the Lead Engineer and stakeholders.
  • Provide input and support to construction, testing, and commissioning activities. Manage C&I engineering on individual projects or a portfolio of projects, depending on scope and complexity.
  • Projects will vary in complexity and size, delivered for Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals industry.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Controls and Instrumentation C&I Engineer within engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of C&I engineering and design, with a good understanding of related disciplines.
  • Experience in both Electrical and Instrumentation design.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as AMTECH, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Degree (BEng/MEng/MSc) in C&I Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of current British and International Standards.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or Oil and gas sector preferred.
