Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation Control Engineer for a permanent and contract position in Warrington. This role sits within Oil & Gas, Construction or highly regulated industries. We have both contract and staff positions available.

Role: Senior Controls and Instrumentation Design Engineer with responsibility for delivering high-quality C&I engineering and design solutions across the full project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning. You will support the Lead Engineer to deliver designs on time, to budget, and to the required quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce C&I design deliverables within single and multi-discipline engineering projects.
  • Support the Lead Engineer in delivering designs on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
  • Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation).
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews, presenting designs to the Lead Engineer and stakeholders.
  • Provide input and support to construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage C&I engineering on individual projects or a portfolio of projects, depending on scope and complexity.
  • Work on projects across major sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals).

Experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer within engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of C&I engineering and design, with understanding of related disciplines.
  • Experience in both Electrical and Instrumentation design.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as AMTECH, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Degree (BEng/MEng/MSc) in C&I Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of current British and International Standards.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or Oil & Gas sectors is preferred.
