Lead Manufacturing Engineer in NW London, responsible for owning a busy manufacturing area and shaping its future within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume electronics or device assembly environment. This hands-on role combines technical leadership with the authority to drive strategy, optimise processes, and influence senior leaders to deliver tangible business impact.

This position sits within a growing business that blends cutting-edge product development with high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing. You will work with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, support new product launches, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that make a real difference.

Responsibilities

  • Own the manufacturing area end-to-end, from process design to execution and improvement, leading NPI projects and turning prototypes into optimised production processes.
  • Implement APQP, PFMEA, control plans and capability studies to ensure product quality.
  • Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Influence board-level decisions with clear strategy and data-backed recommendations.
  • Solve complex production challenges and implement ideas on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production and Supply Chain to deliver results.

What we’re looking for

  • 10–12 years’ experience in electronics or device assembly manufacturing
  • Proven track record in NPI, APQP, and continuous improvement
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred)
  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MES systems experience
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change without direct line management
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485, or IATF 16949
  • ERP/MES or manufacturing analytics experience
