Senior / Principal Civil Engineer (Residential Projects) – Location: Remote working – Outside IR35

Responsibilities

  • Technical Delivery: Lead design and coordination of highways, drainage, utilities, and site infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with UK planning policy, Building Regulations, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Sewers for Adoption (SfA), and local authority standards.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, PDS) to guide project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Minimum 12+ years civil engineering experience with a focus on UK residential development.
  • Essential: Proven track record in leading design and delivery of housing schemes.
  • Essential: Strong understanding of UK planning system, Section 38/104/106 agreements, and NHBC standards.
  • Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers) or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Experience in Design & Build contracts and working with major housebuilders.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of BIM processes and digital design delivery.
  • Desirable: Experience in sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM Communities, net-zero infrastructure design).
  • Desirable: Business development and work-winning experience.
