Senior QA Engineer

Our client is a forward thinking technology first, Belfast success story. Our client is lookingf or a Senior QA to help shape strategy, mentor engineers, and build automated testing frameworks for back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines. This role blends hands-on testing with strategy, working in an Agile environment alongside engineers and data specialists.

What you'll be doing

* Leading QA strategy across back-end services, APIs and data pipelines
* Mentoring QA engineers and collaborating with software/data engineers
* Designing, developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks
* Driving functional, integration, regression, and data testing approaches
* Performing hands-on unit, integration and end-to-end automated testing
* Identifying and tracking defects, ensuring timely resolution and retesting
* Ensuring adherence to testing standards while driving continuous improvement
* Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to an Agile mindset
* Documenting test cases, results, and defect reports in detail

What we're looking for

Essential
* 5+ years in QA, including 2+ in a senior or lead role
* Strong automation testing background with proven framework development
* Proficiency in Python for automation, with C# or TypeScript desirable
* Experience setting test strategies for software and data solutions
* Cloud-based testing experience (AWS)
* Strong Agile mindset and collaboration skills
* Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills
* Experience building and maintaining scalable automated test solutions

Desirable
* Proficiency with test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, NUnit)
* Experience in data testing and collaboration with data engineers
* Familiarity with Git, Jira and backlog management tools
* Ability to triage production issues, debug and collaborate with users
