Job Description

Join our team and you’ll be responsible for ensuring quality throughout the whole software development cycle. You will guide and support others and lead the team by example with best testing practices.

Working in the Commercial Data Solutions domain, you will work across multiple projects to identify potential issues, along with helping with refinement of requirements, and making informed judgement calls on the scope of testing required. You will have the opportunity to get involved in programming tasks if you so choose, or to help with the business analysis.

Your responsibilities

  • Help the developers to create good quality automated acceptance tests to ensure the product is protected into the future and work hard to eliminate bugs before they are ever created, by contributing very actively to the planning stages
  • Manual exploratory testing
  • Ensure that the User Stories accepted into the sprints have complete acceptance criteria, are testable, and that NFRs are not forgotten (accessibility, security, access control, etc.)
  • Bring testing experience to the team and help other team members write good quality automated tests
  • Help build a culture of ever-increasing data quality with a focus on all data quality dimensions and integrate metrics with centralized tools that measure data products’ quality and reliability in the organization

Qualifications

  • Understanding of data engineering (including SQL, Python, Data Warehousing, ETL, Dimensional Modelling, Analytics)
  • Understanding of cloud data infrastructure elements, and ideally AWS (Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3) and understanding of existing governance frameworks of data quality and their dimensions (DAMA, GOV.UK, etc.).
  • Experience in Exploratory Testing, automation experience, and time and attention management between multiple projects, experience in data process and asset testing, and automation of unit, integration and regression testing and experience analysing user stories for their testing requirements both functional and non-functional
  • Knowledge of tooling to support test use case management and automation, such as Testrail, and test frameworks such as Pytest.
  • Experience contributing to the automated regression tests, ability to isolate causes for hard to reproduce bugs and ability to influence and persuade other team members and experience working collaboratively with 2 or more Agile/Scrum teams at the same time, and self-managing time share according to key priorities
