Senior Structural Engineer\nNottingham | £42,000 - £50,000 + Hybrid + Flexible Working Hours + Bonus + Christmas Shutdown\n\nWe are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in a supportive, close-knit team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across public realm, highways, active travel, residential, commercial, education, and high-tech industrial developments.\n\nThe Role\n\n * Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects from feasibility through to construction.\n\n * Manage client relationships, acting as the main point of contact on allocated projects.\n\n * Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior engineers and technicians.\n\n * Prepare and check structural calculations, design packages, and specifications.\n\n * Carry out inspections and prepare technical reports.\n\n * Coordinate design input across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.\n\n * Attend and lead site visits, design meetings, and project reviews.\n\n * Contribute to technical discussions in the office, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.\n\n * Support Directors and Associates in developing new business opportunities and maintaining high professional standards.\n\nAbout You\n\n * Degree qualified in Structural Engineering (BEng / MEng).\n\n * 5+ years’ experience working as a Structural Engineer in the UK.\n\n * Chartered (MIStructE) or working towards Chartered status.\n\n * Strong capability with 3D structural analysis and design software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS).\n\n * AutoCAD skills (Revit beneficial but not essential).\n\n * Broad knowledge of structural design in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.\n\n * Experience with structural inspections and producing technical reports.\n\n * Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.\n\n * UK driving licence .\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive salary with clear opportunities for progression.\n\n * Up to 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off + office closed over Christmas (typically two weeks, not taken from holiday allowance).\n\n * Flexible working options following probation.\n\n * Workplace pension scheme (5% employee contribution / 3% employer contribution, reviewed annually).\n\n * Regular CPD sessions tailored to your role and requirements.\n\n * Annual bonus scheme linked to company performance.\n\n * Free gym membership.\n\n * Cycle to work scheme.\n\nCulture & Development\n\nYou’ll be joining a small, growing consultancy where engineers are given genuine responsibility and the chance to make an impact.
