Senior Structural Engineer – Nottingham | £42,000 - £50,000 + Hybrid + Flexible Working Hours + Bonus + Christmas Shutdown

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in a supportive, close-knit team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across public realm, highways, active travel, residential, commercial, education, and high-tech industrial developments.

The Role

  • Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects from feasibility through to construction.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as the main point of contact on allocated projects.
  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior engineers and technicians.
  • Prepare and check structural calculations, design packages, and specifications.
  • Carry out inspections and prepare technical reports.
  • Coordinate design input across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Attend and lead site visits, design meetings, and project reviews.
  • Contribute to technical discussions in the office, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.
  • Support Directors and Associates in developing new business opportunities and maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering (BEng / MEng).
  • 5+ years' experience working as a Structural Engineer in the UK.
  • Chartered (MIStructE) or working towards Chartered status.
  • Strong capability with 3D structural analysis and design software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS).
  • AutoCAD skills (Revit beneficial but not essential).
  • Broad knowledge of structural design in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Experience with structural inspections and producing technical reports.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • UK driving licence preferred.
