OverviewMcGregor McMahon Consulting Engineers invites applications for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our busy team in Dunfermline. The ideal candidate will be self-reliant, motivated, and have solid experience in structural engineering design with a track record of successful project delivery.ResponsibilitiesManaging the design delivery of projects, working collaboratively with colleagues.Preparing design calculations and specifications that meet internal QMS requirements and client expectations.Producing and delivering detailed Building Warrant packages ready for SER certifier review.Liaising with clients and other professionals involved in project delivery and coordination.Attending design team meetings, site visits, inspections, and preparation of reports.Undertaking CDM duties as a designer to eliminate, reduce, inform and control risks when preparing designs and considering potential construction sequencing.Managing multiple projects, monitoring delivery to align with client expectations, meet deadlines, and ensure profitable delivery.Contributing to resource planning meetings and effectively managing projects within the business.Candidate Profile / QualificationsAn accredited university degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and design standards for primary structural materials.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop effective engineering solutions.Experience liaising directly with clients and other construction professionals.Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Tekla Tedds, MasterSeries, AutoCAD, and Revit.Good working knowledge of the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004, including Procedural Guidance on SER Certification and Building Warrant applications.Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.A full UK driving licence, required for attending site visits.The right to work in the UK.Additional InformationThe successful candidate should be actively working towards professional review with either ICE or IStructE, with the goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer.It is expected that the suitable candidate will have a minimum of 6 years’ post-graduate experience, having worked on a variety of engineering projects.The level and salary for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and abilities.Employee Benefits30 days of holiday (rising to 35 days with service)Company pension schemeLife insuranceHow to ApplyIf you are interested in this opportunity, please send a detailed CV and covering letter to us.
