The role:

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes at every stage.
  • Deliver schemes across industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare sectors, meeting Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated design solutions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, maintaining the company’s reputation for reliability and excellence.
  • Undertake structural inspections and assessments of new and existing properties, applying expertise in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
  • Carry out structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds), producing accurate technical outputs, drawings, and reports.
  • Prepare clear, professional documentation including structural survey reports and design deliverables.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, encouraging development and contributing to team growth.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Proven ability to manage projects independently from concept through to delivery.
  • Strong technical expertise in both new-build and refurbishment structures.
  • Experience working with a range of materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • A supportive approach to mentoring and developing junior engineers and technicians.
  • Proactive, hands-on attitude with a passion for high-quality structural design.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence when working with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, or similar).
  • Chartered status with IStructE or ICE (or working towards chartership with demonstrable progress).
  • Degree-qualified (MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering, or equivalent).
