A robust, scalable and secure infrastructure is critical to our business as it provides a platform for our Users, systems, wholesale trading partners and retail outlets to trade. Barbour is going through an exciting period of change, as we expand our global operations and continue to focus on our cybersecurity program.The role will be pivotal to the team and department, working alongside the IT manager of Infrastructure and Cybersecurity to design, build and implement new solutions and services, whilst also maintaining and continuously improving the existing infrastructure alongside a programme of vulnerability mitigation and security hardening.The role will involve collaborating directly with other teams within the IT department, providing high level infrastructure technical support and documentation, as well as mentoring of junior staff to enhance their expertise and maximise efficiency within the team. Expertise in cybersecurity tools and solid experience leading a cybersecurity policy and program are essential.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement new IT solutions and projectsPerform root-cause analysis for service interruptions and proactively implement mitigationsEscalation support for the IT service operations team, and subject matter expert for junior staff in the Infrastructure and Security teamIdentify, design and implement improvements to existing solutions and processes within the business, having an automation and security-first mindsetCreating and updating relevant documentation for business departments and the IT departmentConfiguration and testing of the monitoring platform to ensure the highest availability of services to the businessMonitoring and configuration of patch management system to mitigate vulnerabilitiesAnalysis of security posture, and implementation of security hardening adhering to industry best practicesProvide advice and guidance to the IT team and associated stakeholders around infrastructure solution decisionsRepresent Barbour in external projects with customers and suppliersConduct internal and external penetration testing with assistance from third-party cybersecurity providers and remediate findings with a sense of urgency, based on risk levelSupport audit work from third parties, provide required information, log actions and address and remediate findingsEnsure all Barbour company data is protected, regularly backed up according to company policy, recovered as required and regularly tested to ensure procedures and configuration are correctSkills and ExperienceClient OS: Windows 10/11, and MacOS/iOSServer OS: Windows Server 2012-2019Server roles: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCPBackup and DR: On-premise and cloud based backups of virtual infrastructure, SaaS based backup solutions for M365Virtual Infrastructure: monitoring and management of virtual machines, hosts, networks and datastores, as well as SAN and NAS appliancesMonitoring: SaaS based monitoring platform of on-premise servers, critical applications (such as SQL instances) and WAN connectionsTroubleshooting and configuration of traditional Cisco IOS devices and cloud based solutionsExperienced in physical network configuration, optimisation and troubleshootingACL troubleshooting and configurationWireless configuration, troubleshooting and optimisationSASE management and configuration of perimeter security appliances, zero-trust and firewall as a service including perimeter firewall rules and SD-WAN configConfiguration and monitoring of patch management solution (Windows updates and 3rd party applications)Email security gateway troubleshooting and configuration of policiesAdditional informationSome UK travel may be required for support and project work.Discretionary Company bonus schemeStaff DiscountStaff Shop25 days holiday as standard increasing with length of service plus bank holidaysAccess to training and development activities to support your career developmentFree onsite parkingSubsidised canteenOperate hybrid & flexible working4pm finish on a FridayRefer a friend bonus schemeSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustriesRetail Apparel and FashionNote: In the event that a sufficient volume of suitable applications are received, the post may close prior to the specified closing date.
