Hybrid: Predominantly work from home/on-site in Croydon

Due to the nature of this role, we require all our team to be able to obtain high level security clearance. You must have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5+ years to be eligible. You must also hold a British Passport.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java, Selenium, and REST API automation testing. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.

Responsibilities

  • Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Java and Selenium.
  • API Testing: Design and execute automated tests for REST APIs to ensure functionality, performance, and security.
  • Test Strategy: Define, document, and implement test strategies and methodologies for both new and existing features.
  • Bug Tracking: Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide timely feedback on test results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in test automation and recommend improvements to enhance the testing process.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior test engineers and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality test code.
  • Reporting: Generate comprehensive test reports and communicate findings to the development team and management.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent with Java programming language.
  • Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver for UI automation.
  • Strong knowledge of REST API testing tools and frameworks (e.g., RestAssured, Postman).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
  • AWS Certification
