The role involves leading the structural design of buildings in the energy and industrial sectors, supporting team development, ensuring structural integrity, and optimizing designs.The role is primarily office-based with hybrid working options, located in our Manchester, London, Leeds, Chester, Southampton, or Bristol offices. Occasional travel to client and project sites will be required.Your key responsibilities will include:Leading and managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion.Following project delivery models such as FEED/FEL, DED, OE stages.Designing structural systems for energy and industrial facilities, including manufacturing buildings, substations, power stations, and infrastructure.Conducting structural analysis and detailed design to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.Developing engineering solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs.Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.Collaborating with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams.Preparing technical documentation, reports, and proposals.Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development.Staying updated with industry trends and technologies.Supporting business development and tendering activities.Qualifications & experience required:Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).At least 7 years (Senior/Principal) or 10 years (Associate) of industry experience in structural engineering, specifically in energy and industrial projects.Experience with substation design buildings.Skills and competencies:Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods.Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, TSD, Robot, or similar.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong project management and multitasking abilities.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Teamwork and collaboration skills.Technical expertise in structural engineering concepts.Proficiency in data analysis and structural modelling.Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient design practices.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Leadership and team management capabilities.Organizational skills and attention to detail.Experience in resource and cost estimation for structural design.Support in project planning and tendering.Ability to present at client and project meetings.Interested in joining us?Please submit your application with all relevant documents, including your CV.
