Site Engineer (Geo-Environmental) – WSP

Your Role
The role is predominantly site-based, supporting day-to-day delivery of projects in the Ground & Water team within WSP's Earth & Environment division. You will work closely with project managers and directors and may supervise groundwater monitoring, site investigations, and contractor activities (e.g., drill rigs).
Team and Projects
Work within the Ground & Water team, a service line in Earth & Environment. The team comprises professionals delivering land contamination management services to public and private sector clients, with projects spanning energy transition, infrastructure, and nuclear decommissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Completion of groundwater monitoring
- Supervision of site investigations
- supervision of field work including soil logging and environmental sampling, chemical and geotechnical testing, groundwater sampling and ground gas monitoring
- Data collation
- Ensure work is delivered in line with procedures and safety, health, and environmental standards
Experience and Qualifications
- Knowledge of planning and supervision of site investigations
- CDM Regulations and their application to safe design and implementation of site investigations
- Data handling; GIS experience desirable
- Site safety qualifications (e.g., first aid, SSSTS) desirable
- Relevant technical degree desirable (chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science)
- Willingness to travel to UK sites
We’re looking for someone who
- Has a full UK driving licence (essential)
- Is comfortable on-site and able to use initiative
- Communicates clearly, attentive to detail, and able to work under pressure
- Is adaptable, reliable, and able to manage time and budgets
- Can build rapport and work within a team
