International travel on occasionReports to: Area Sales Manager/ DirectorDate: August 2025Role PurposeAs a Site Services Engineer at Mayerton Refractories, you will be the key point of contact for our customers within your region and will hold primary responsibility for regular account contact. Operating within high-temperature industrial steel environments at customer steel plants, you will oversee the installation, maintenance and the performance of our products. Within your role, you will become a valued member of the sales team who strive to deliver this mission, by providing strong technical expertise, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperationalProvide technical support through the monitoring of our product and steel plant performance of your customer accountsUnderstand steel plant processes and parameters in order meet our customers' requirementsProvide onsite support through the installation of Mayerton products on customer sites, providing technical support and guidance as requiredUndertake regular reviews and inspections of product vessels through both the build process and monitoring performance through its service duration. Additionally, provide feedback where necessary should technical interventions be requiredComplete monthly consignment stocktake, all required documentation and necessary processing to service customer accounts effectivelyTechnicalIn collaboration with the technical team, review plant parameters, processes and operational performance to improve outputs where possibleProvide support through product trials, providing regular feedback to the team to achieve excellent product performance and secure customer accounts on a long-term basisSales SupportSupport the management team in the achievement of monthly and annual sales targets, by providing regular data analysis and customer information as requiredContinually identify new sales opportunities within existing customer sites (sales of additional products) and support the management team to agree and execute an account management plan for each customerParticipate in customer account meetings to present Mayerton's full product portfolio, in alignment with the sales and account plan for the relevant customerProvide support to the management team where required with elements of customer pricing and contractual obligations, so that these are met and deliveredGeneral Support & ComplianceUndertake any other reasonable management requestTravel to key areas as required, including conferences, business meetings and global industrial eventsAdhere to Company and Customers' Health and Safety and Security Policies and uphold the company valuesComply with relevant ISO standards and adhere to Company policies and proceduresSkills & ExperienceDesirableExperience of the steel and refractories industry. Knowledge or experience within furnace, ladles, brickwork and monolithics would be advantageousIdeally based in Sheffield, Rotherham or within 20 miles from these locationsPrevious knowledge and experience in a technical/ site services roleExperience within a sales roleKnowledge of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System (HubSpot)Product & Market KnowledgeIn-depth understanding of product/service offeringsAwareness of industry trends and competitorsAbility to translate technical knowledge into solutions for our customersEssentialMust hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to customer sitesOtherCommunication Skills: clear conveyance of product value and features; active listening; strong written and verbal communicationRelationship Building: developing excellent working relationships with customers and stakeholders; maintaining long-term relationships; networkingCustomer Focused: understanding and anticipating customer needs; providing tailored solutions and follow-up; ensuring customer satisfactionTime Management & Organisation: managing multiple leads and accounts; prioritising activities; meeting deadlines and sales targetsGeneral: use of digital tools for lead generation, tracking, and reporting; comfortable with virtual platforms; collaboration with internal departments; share insights to improve offerings; support collective targetsNote: This description has been refined to improve structure and readability while preserving the original role information.
