In this senior leadership role, you will: Define and drive technical strategy, setting standards for engineering excellence across multiple teams. Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing development teams. Translate complex business challenges into innovative, scalable technical solutions. Influence architectural direction and oversee end-to-end delivery of mission-critical projects. Work closely with senior business stakeholders, ensuring alignment of technology with strategic goals. Shape the culture of the Newcastle hub, fostering learning, collaboration, and innovation. What makes a strong candidate

Significant experience leading software development or engineering teams, ideally at Senior Manager or Head of Engineering level. Strong technical foundations in C#/.NET, Java, or Python, with deep knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS). Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in complex environments. Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping focus on long-term strategy. Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing at executive level. Entrepreneurial and proactive, with a track record of building high-performing teams. Degree in Computer Science or related field (postgraduate or professional certifications advantageous). (Financial services experience is beneficial but not essential) Why this role?
