Role: Strategy Engineer

Location: Kempten, Germany (with travel to race/test events)

Contract Type: Full-time

About the Team

The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s expertise.

Responsibilities

• Prepare race strategies via simulations and analysis.
• Support live race operations, including updates and competitor tracking.
• Conduct post-race data analysis and documentation.
• Develop and maintain analysis tools.
• Improve in-race strategy tools.

Candidate Profile

Must-Have Skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with version control (preferably Git).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with car data analysis (MAT ATLAS preferred).
• Knowledge of FIA Sporting Regulations.
• Calm, analytical, quick decision-maker in high-pressure situations.
• At least 1 year experience in high-level motorsport strategy.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib.
• Knowledge of Formula E energy systems.
• Experience with One Timing.

Education & Background

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Motorsport Engineering or related fields.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and performance-driven attitude.
