Location: Kempten, Germany (with travel to race/test events)

Overview

The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s expertise.

We seek a Strategy Engineer to join our performance team, focusing on simulation, real-time analysis, and strategic decision-making to enhance our competitiveness throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare race strategies via simulations, analysis, and reporting.
• Provide live race support, including plan updates and competitor tracking.
• Conduct post-race data analysis and prepare review reports.
• Develop and maintain analysis and decision-support tools.
• Improve and own in-race strategy tools.

Candidate Profile

Must-Have

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with version control (preferably Git)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with car data analysis (MAT ATLAS preferred)
• Knowledge of FIA Sporting Regulations
• Calm, analytical mindset with quick decision-making under pressure
• At least 1 year of high-level motorsport experience, preferably in strategy

Nice to Have

• Experience with data science libraries: Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib
• Knowledge of Formula E energy management systems
• Experience with One Timing

Education & Background

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Motorsport Engineering, or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, self-driven, and committed to performance improvement
