Job Description:

We are currently looking for talented Engineers to join the Plant Structural Integrity department in Rolls-Royce Submarines. As a Structural Integrity Engineer, you will engage in assessments such as primary strength, fatigue, crack growth, and fracture assessments, following ASME III and R6 codes. You will support various programs, from in-service to new builds, and develop Finite Element Analyses models to evaluate stresses and justify components.

The role involves responding rapidly to emergent challenges, providing vital support to the Submarines enterprise. Rolls-Royce offers a culture of innovation, development opportunities, competitive salary, and benefits, including hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing mechanical assessments, including finite element analyses using Abaqus and other tools.
• Developing and supporting component designs, lifecycle management, and assessment methodologies for submarine nuclear components.
• Communicating assessment outcomes effectively to various stakeholders within Rolls-Royce and industry partners.

Candidate requirements:

• Degree in mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Interest and expertise in structural integrity analysis.
• Experience with finite element methods (preferably Abaqus), safety case support, and industry standards (ASME III, R6).
• Membership or working towards membership in a relevant professional body.
