An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an Aerothermal Engineer within our Defence business in Bristol.
The Cold Section Aerothermal Engineer is responsible for developing aerothermal capabilities, from engine inception and discussions with airframers, through NPI, EDP, to production and fleet support, including technology delivery from TRL1-7.
This role involves expertise in gas path aerodynamics and thermodynamics, utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics at various fidelity levels, and testing in TRL rigs. It requires understanding component interactions at both local and engine levels.

What You Will Be Doing
- Define gas path aerothermal system concepts meeting requirements, evaluate with analytical methods, and support robust trade-offs.
- Integrate gas path systems through cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Conduct verification and validation activities, including modeling, testing, calibration, and uncertainty analysis.
- Manage knowledge, data, and documentation adhering to procedures and ensuring proper data retention.
Who We Are Looking For
We seek individuals who:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Have strong mechanical design knowledge and understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts.
- Can apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to technical problems.
- Possess knowledge of product integrity, liability, and certification frameworks.
- Have experience in turbomachinery aerodynamic design, analysis, or experimentation.
