Responsibilities

Support activity across the systems engineering lifecycle and contribute to the success, strategy and growth of a small, dynamic team. Represent PLEXSYS UK Ltd in interactions with internal and external customers, industry partners and subcontractors. Collaborate with other functional teams to apply technical expertise and drive projects forward. Adapt to a role with breadth and opportunities to learn and grow with mentorship and support from colleagues.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree in Simulation, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computing or Mathematics.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical role within Defence modelling and simulation.
  • A team-player with the capacity, drive and willingness to assist other functional teams with technical expertise.
  • A strong knowledge of computer architectures and network design, including virtualisation, IP communication and routing protocols.
  • Ability to act as System Design Authority for applicable projects.
  • Ability to integrate PLEXSYS products with other simulation applications and mission systems using open standards and APIs.
  • Familiarity with simulation and synthetic environment interoperability, including the underpinning standards contained within the UK\'s Defence Modelling and Simulation Standards Profile.
  • Personal qualities to act in a customer facing role when managing customer support enquiries for fielded PLEXSYS products.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to support demonstrations to customers and partners and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in Export Compliance and the UK Defence procurement processes.
  • Experience working within a project team, involving production of documentation and material to support an engineering project throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting bid and proposal submissions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working within secure environments.
  • Possess a keen interest in emerging and disruptive technologies, including commercial hardware, software and consumer devices.
  • An understanding of the concepts and principles underpinning Live, Virtual and Constructive systems for Training or Test and Evaluation.
  • Previous experience working in the MoD or knowledge of MoD operations.
  • Ability to travel across the UK and overseas.
  • Hold a UK Security Clearance of Secret or above.
  • Due to the nature of elements of the role, applicants must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
