Overview

As a Systems Engineer, you will be making a real and immediate contribution to UK national security and defence, developing and delivering operational capabilities in the Cyber, Cryptography and Operational Technology domains. Day-to-day, you'll provide high quality, independent technical advice to a wide range of customers, in support of their major acquisition programmes, and for developing our own range of world-leading products. We are looking for people to join our growing team of Systems Engineers who are interested in applying and developing their technical expertise, across a number of domains, both military and commercial.

Responsibilities

  • Technically supporting the planning and management of acquisition, research or product development activity, or leading small projects.
  • Analysing requirements and translating them into logical system requirements and constraints.
  • Supporting the technical design and decision-making phase of projects.
  • Supporting the V&V phase of projects.
  • Supporting project teams as a solution develops to ensure its continuing compliance to requirements.
  • Ability to understand and analyse business needs (Operational User / Mission Needs).
  • Ability to work with and support other Project/Systems Engineering and Subject Matter Experts to develop detailed designs and planning.
  • Solid Systems Engineering knowledge, MBSE experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of Cryptography (Crypt-Key), Vulnerability Research, Cyber Defence, or Cyber Exercising highly desirable.

Essential qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or proven experience working in an equivalent engineering role.
  • Intention to join/membership of appropriate professional body.

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Malvern site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
