Technical Support Engineer – BPO and REO Institute LLC

Location: West Midlands. Easy commutable areas include Shrewsbury, Telford, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Codsall, Walsall and other local locations – Staffordshire / Shropshire / Worcestershire.

Salary: £52,000 – £59,000+ per year.

Ideal Candidate Background

An experienced technical support engineer with an electrical / electronic bias and an in-depth understanding of precision technologies in scientific, industrial, manufacturing, laser, medical equipment or similar industries.

The Role

This is a vital role within the technical engineering division of a world-renowned manufacturing and precision engineering organisation. You will be an integral contact working directly with customers to diagnose and resolve technical issues, while offering further engineering insight to improve the performance of high-precision engineering machinery, systems and processes.

Your work will typically involve electrical / electronic issues; however, as the equipment is multifunctional, aspects of mechanical engineering awareness will apply. You will be based from the manufacturing facility in the West Midlands but will occasionally travel to customer sites in the UK for in-depth analysis, troubleshooting and project-related engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues for customers, providing superb technical support.
• Offer engineering insight to improve performance of high-precision machinery, systems and processes.
• Travel to customer sites in the UK for in-depth analysis, troubleshooting and project work as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent troubleshooter and problem solver with a self-motivated engineering mindset.
• Driven to provide superb technical support and to continuously improve ways of working with customers.
• Ability to engage in a "right first time" and "prevention is better than cure" ethos.
• Based in the West Midlands or able to relocate; engineering qualifications to support experience; preferably electrically or electronically biased, though multiskilled backgrounds are considered.
• Suitable industry experience includes scientific, high-precision, laser, printing, coating, medical equipment, industrial manufacturing or similar sectors.
