We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Trainee Field-Based Engineer to join our engineering team.

This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career in mechanical and multi-skilled engineering. You will primarily support experienced engineers to gain experience, assisting with mechanical repairs, installations, and servicing. You'll learn the ropes through practical on-the-job experience and structured training, both in-house and via external providers, with a focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Support senior engineers on-site with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks

Assist with mechanical assembly, fault finding, and routine servicing

Maintain a safe and organised working environment

Attend internal and external training to build core technical skills

Accurately complete job records, timesheets, and service reports

Travel to customer sites, occasionally staying away from home.

Requirements:

Keen interest in engineering, mechanics, or maintenance

Practical, hands-on approach to work

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to document what you can see onto a tablet/PDA

Willingness to learn and complete formal training courses

Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

Full UK driving licence

Flexibility to travel and occasionally work unsociable hours or stay overnightTraining & Development:
