Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex, high-value energy infrastructure projects across the UK and Continental Europe within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Design and specify HV substation plant and systems, supporting projects spanning transmission assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage solutions, and mission-critical facilities.
  • Develop designs up to 400 kV from concept and FEED through to detailed design for construction.
  • Ensure technical excellence and compliance with client specifications, health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with major clients such as National Grid and SSEN; interface with other engineering disciplines; contribute to developing a resilient and sustainable energy network.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.
  • Experience in electrical discipline and delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Relevant experience in HV and LV, substations (up to 400 kV); experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings. CAD (AutoCAD or Microstation) preferred but not essential.
