CHP Engineer

Location: Wigan & Surrounding

Salary: £40,000 to £47,500 + (OTE £50,000+) + Vehicle + Bonus.

Role

The day to day role involves the service, maintenance and repair of large internal combustion engines on one or multiple sites, supporting the grid as backup power. The role will suit someone with experience in mechanical or electrical systems working with engines. The candidate may come from ex-forces, generators, plant, marine or CHP backgrounds. The role includes working alongside experienced Operations Engineers who can train and develop you to progress into a similar role. The business also operates a call-out rota, which you will join only when experienced enough to carry out reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair of CHP Power Units - Jenbacher, MTU, Cummins, Caterpillar
• Covering multiple sites across the region
• Work alongside experienced Operations Engineers to train and develop you to progress into a similar role
• On-call and overtime participation as required

Candidate requirements

• Qualified Engineer
• CHP maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical or electrical knowledge
• Willing to do overtime and on-call

• £200 per week for being on call - 1 in 6
• Bonus dependent on performance

• Overtime: £3,000 to £7,000 annually

Notes

The business also operates a call-out rota; you will only be on this rota when experienced enough to carry out reactive maintenance.
