We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our IT team at this pivotal stage. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home and across our UK offices. You will work closely with our Microsoft partner and Cyber Security team to design, deploy, and secure our cloud infrastructure and security estate.

This is a strategic role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure. You will play a key part in building a stable, scalable, and secure platform that supports our transition from legacy on-premises systems to a modern cloud-first architecture.

Working collaboratively across IT, security, and business teams-as well as with our Microsoft partner-you will help navigate the current application estate, drive cloud adoption, and ensure our infrastructure is optimised for performance, resilience, compliance, and cost efficiency. Once implemented, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the platform, ensuring it continues to meet evolving business needs and remains secure, efficient, and reliable.

You will act as a technical authority across the platform, bringing expert-level knowledge of cloud services and automation to guide decision-making and deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy scalable Azure infrastructure tailored to our business and legal sector requirements
  • Build and manage enterprise-grade Azure Landing Zones, subscriptions, and resource groups
  • Optimise performance and cost using Azure-native tools
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Entra ID, PIM, and Conditional Access
  • Configure secure hybrid access with Entra Private Access
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and PowerShell
  • Collaborate across IT, legal, Security and compliance teams
  • Work closely with our partners and Microsoft cloud specialists to align architecture with best practices
  • Maintain and support the cloud platform as a core infrastructure service

About You:

As a Cloud Engineer you will have:

  • Minimum five years' experience in Azure Cloud Infrastructure and services
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services including Networking, WAF, Logic Apps, and Azure OpenAI
  • Deep proficiency in automation and Infrastructure as Code using PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud security, identity management, and access control as well as architecting utilising secure by design and zero trust principles
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other CI/CD and version control tools
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proven mentoring capabilities and a commitment to technical excellence
  • Strong solution architecture skills for designing scalable, high-performance, and resilient cloud solutions
  • Strategic thinking and ability to build a shared vision across teams
  • Passion for learning and innovation, driving continuous improvement in cloud engineering practices
