Overview

The Component Engineers play an important part, not just within the group but the wider business too as people seek technical advice. You will ensure we deliver a comprehensive component service ensuring accuracy of data and assessment of risks for components selected and embedded within MBDA designs.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to select, vet, and catalogue mechanical, electronic, electrical and electromechanical components used in MBDA missile products.
  • Provide technical advice and support across the organisation, helping to ensure component data accuracy and risk assessment.
  • Engage with stakeholders and suppliers to stay up to date with latest products and technologies.
  • Support local and international continuous improvement initiatives to define best practice and manage adoption of agreed methodologies across teams on an international scale.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge or experience in electrical or electronic engineering discipline.
  • Appreciation of components and suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Pro-activeness and self-motivation to improve self, improve process, and get the job done.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: Circa £33,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site. Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.

  • Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)

The opportunity

The growing workload within MBDA has created an exciting opportunity within the UK Component Engineering team for a committed and professional individual to train and develop into a highly skilled Component Engineer. You will learn to select, vet, and catalogue components used in all of our missile products. You will get to know in detail the latest products and technologies available in order to support the advice given our customers. To keep up-to-date knowledge there will be regular visits to relevant stakeholders and suppliers. There is also the opportunity to support both local and international continuous improvement initiatives to help define best practice and manage the adoption and adherence of agreed methodologies across the teams on an international scale.
