ROLE- Design Engineer\n\nLOCATION- Portsmouth\n\nTERM- Permanent\n\nSALARY- £30,000-£43,000, dependent on experience \n\nMy client is a manufacturer of plastic injection moulded products. They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent basis.\n\nThe Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\nDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or similar\nAt least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering position\nStrong knowledge of plastic injection moulding\nBe proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Catia V5 etc.\nPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment\nGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written\nProficient using MS Office\nExcellent organisational skills and time management skills\nHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team \n\n The Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nUsing 3D CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings\nLiaising with manufacturing providers\nBeing involved in final assembly of products\nCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans\nUpdating 3D models and drawings\nInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs\nChecking drawings for sign off\nWorking in a multi-disciplinary team on varied projects \n\n If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
