Maintenance Engineer

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The role is critical in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment across galvanising and powder coating facilities. Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on a wide range of machinery, including galvanising lines, powder coating systems, conveyors, cranes, ovens, compressors, and extraction systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults to minimise downtime. Monitor and maintain essential utilities (air, water, heating systems). Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards through inspections and testing. Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects for new and existing equipment. Liaise with suppliers/contractors and provide technical support to production teams. Person Specification: NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Multi-skilled background with both mechanical and electrical competencies. Proven maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (experience with galvanising/powder coating highly advantageous). Desirable: 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations. Welding and fabrication experience. Knowledge of galvanising/powder coating industry standards.
