Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services | Renewable Energy Consultancy | Birmingham (Outskirts), in office 2/3 days per week- £60,000 + bonus and benefits

A forward-thinking renewables consultancy based just outside Birmingham is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in building services, particularly in heating systems, to join their growing team.

The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a hands-on approach to designing and delivering mechanical systems within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems with a focus on heating, ventilation, and associated building services.
• Produce accurate technical drawings and schematics using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
• Collaborate closely with engineers, consultants, and on-site teams to ensure efficient implementation of designs.
• Conduct site visits, support installations, and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
• Ensure all designs meet regulatory standards and sustainability goals.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in mechanical design within the building services or HVAC industry.
• Strong working knowledge of CAD tools.
• Comfortable with both office-based design work and hands-on involvement on site.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in or a passion for renewables and sustainable energy solutions is highly desirable.
