What you will do

  • For the role of Engineer working on Overhead Transmission Line projects, supervise a team of design engineers specializing in Overhead Transmission Lines. The team will work on projects ranging from 11kV to 400kV.
  • Provide technical evaluations and offer problem-solving solutions to different team members.
  • Prepare written proposals outlining project details including timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
  • Offer technical guidance throughout project implementation, statutory planning, and participation in public consultation events.
  • Manage engineering and design activities related to overhead lines (PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, design criteria, sag-tension calculations, insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, damper system recommendations, structure spotting, clearance reports, conductor and insulator selection, etc.).
  • Conduct feasibility studies, perform conductor thermal ratings, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Undertake studies to identify a technically preferred solution or layout to present to the client.
  • Participate in industry working groups such as CIGRE and IEEE.

Qualifications & requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power engineering.
  • Prior experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
  • Prior experience on upgrading projects such as utilization of High Temperature Low Sag conductors.
  • Desirable – PLS CADD/POLE/TOWER.
  • Knowledge of conducting galloping studies, EMF and Field Effects Calculation, Wake effect, AC Interference for gas pipelines would be a plus.
  • The ability to travel as projects dictate.
