Are you ready to take your engineering skills to the next level? At Finning (UK) Ltd , we’re looking for a dedicated Preventative Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team. Position Overview
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the controller to maximize the operational availability of our equipment. Your mission? To perform timely and efficient routine and preventative maintenance, conduct machine inspections, and identify potential issues that could affect availability. You’ll also carry out minor repairs as needed, all while being a champion for safety.
What You’ll Do
- Preventative Maintenance Servicing: Conduct routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines, including taking routine oil samples (75% of your time).
- Machine Inspection: Perform visual and mechanical analyses of machine conditions, highlighting any developing issues with systems and components (20% of your time).
- Minor Repairs: Complete minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematic systems, and conduct undercarriage inspections (5% of your time).
Your Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of key product elements: Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics.
- Experience in a related engineering function (around 3 years) or a formal apprenticeship qualification (C&G level 1 or equivalent).
- Health & Safety training is desirable but not essential; we provide further training!
Working Conditions
This is a field-based role , and you must hold a full driving license for at least 2 years (subject to a full DVLA license check). You’ll work 43 hours per week with flexible start and finish times, Monday to Friday, and one Saturday every three weeks at an overtime rate.
