Senior Design Engineer\nAylesbury\nSalary Dependent on Experience\nOur client is currently recruiting for an experience and skilled Senior Design Engineer to join there fast paced environment.\nSenior Design Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:\n * Lead a multidisciplinary design team in delivering high-performance heat exchanger systems\n * Acting as a technical pillar beneath the Engineering Manager you’ll champion design integrity, manufacturability and compliance across the product life cycle\n * Drive collaboration, mentor engineers and shape design workflows that impact performance on the shop floor and beyond\n * Design pressure vessels and heat exchangers to ASME, PED, and TEMA standards\n * Create and review 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs\n * Support manufacturing with design-for-fabrication principles and troubleshooting\n * Conduct mechanical calculations and support with FEA simulations\n * Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory codes\n * Maintain detailed design standards for the build and construction of all product types\n * Implement detailed design reviews as required with relevant team members to ensure a smooth transition from design stage to manufacturing\n * Design for manufacturability, considering welding sequences, tolerances, and accessibility during manufacture\n * Collaborate with QA/QC teams to define inspection points and NDT requirements as per design codes\n * Assist the Applications team with any R&D activities as deemed necessary\n * Aid in the development of Product Data Management system (e.g. PDM Professional)\n * Ensure proper revision control and document lifecycle management within PDM\n * Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to streamline design release process\n * Integrate PDM with ERP system for seamless BOM and part number management\n * Provide technical input during client meetings, audits, and design reviews.\n * Support procurement by reviewing vendor specifications and evaluating mechanical components\n * Liaise with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve shop-floor issues\n * Aid in the development in Design Engineers and Graduate Engineers\n * Participate in lessons-learnt reviews and implement feedback into future projects\n * Identify opportunities to improve design workflows, reduce cost, or enhance manufacturability\nThe ideal Senior Design Engineer will:\n * Experienced with Solidworks, Solid Edge, EPDM, Epicor and Microsoft Office\n * Competent with 3D CAD models\n * Familiar with ASME, PED and TEMA standards\n * Previously lead and managed teams before\nJackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 27 years.\nWe strive to provide the ultimate consultancy service to all our candidates.
