Total remuneration: £54,145 - £63,750 
Pay Supplement: The base salary for this role is £46,677 - £54,957. This job qualifies for Digital, Data and Technology Annual Pay Supplement 16% is included in the salary band above. 
Pension: of base salary (RoS contribution) 
Annual leave: 38 days annual holiday, increasing to 42 days with length of service.

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week. We are a flexible employer and will consider a variety of working patterns on a case-by-case basis. For example, compressed hours, term-time working or part-time working. 
Location: Hybrid working model. Contractual base either at Meadowbank House, Edinburgh (EH8 7AU), or St Vincent Plaza, Glasgow (G2 5LD). You will be expected to attend one of these locations as required by the role.

    The Role 
    Join our innovative tech team as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer and help shape the future of RoS! We're looking for a dedicated and experienced engineer to lead on exciting projects, solve complex challenges and support our digital infrastructure which underpins all internal user products and services to the public. 


    On a typical day you will… 
    You’ll work in a cutting-edge team of infrastructure specialists and engineers to: 

  • ensure services are integrated, delivered and operate as required 
  • work with and support third parties in providing infrastructure services 
  • work with technical architects to translate architectural designs into operations 
  • provide input into the direction of the services being maintained including contribution towards – budget management, technology roadmaps, projects, initiatives and tasks 
  • Key Responsibilities 
    Essential Criteria – Skills and Attributes for Success 

    Experience/Technical: 
    We will assess you against the following Technical Experience during the application and assessment process: 

  • Substantive proven experience in providing senior level network engineer support, bringing a strong background in troubleshooting and maintaining complex infrastructure. 
  • Skilled in managing firewall technologies, with a particular focus on Palo Alto solutions. 
  • Well-versed in VPN technologies, including hands-on expertise with GlobalProtect. 
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex infrastructure challenges and deliver robust solutions within tight deadlines. 
  • Adaptable and collaborative, with a track record of working effectively in agile environments alongside diverse, cross-functional teams.
